About our Music Centre
CDETB Music Centre, Kylemore College was established in 1981 to meet the need for Music Tuition in the greater Dublin area. Originally an outcentre of the College of Music (now DIT) the Music centre is run under the auspices of City of Dublin ETB. Since then, the number of music students attending annually has grown to over 700, with a music staff of more than 30. Our students progress through the Associated Board grade system in performance and music theory.
The aim of the College is to encourage all students to develop their full musical potential and at the same time create a platform for enjoyable music making at all levels.
The College also encourages its entire staff to maintain and enhance their professional qualifications through recitals, performances and concerts throughout Ireland and abroad.
Learning to play a musical instrument requires a good deal of time and commitment. Our Music Centre is staffed by specialist teachers, who offer tuition on Voice, Piano/Keyboard, Drums and Percussion, Guitar (all styles), Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Harp, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Recorder, Brass, The tuition is aimed towards entry for the examinations of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. We encourage all students to perform regularly at class concerts and major events, including the National Concert Hall and Helix.
As every student learns at a different pace, our professional and friendly staff caters for all levels and interests, from beginners to more advanced, and those who just want to learn for fun.
