16th June 2021
Dear Music Parents etc / and Students,
Thank you very much for your support of our Music Centre throughout the academic year 20/21. Although we were fully online, teachers commented on very high levels of participation and enjoyment.
We are planning to return to the building in the Autumn! Please read the following carefully and contact me at the Music Office (details below) if you have any queries,
Many thanks and have a good Summer,
Based on your enrolment in 20/21, we are delighted to offer you a place in the Music Centre for 2021/22. CDETB has set the fees at the same level as 20/21:
€400 Half hour instrumental lesson plus separate theory class
€800 Full hour instrumental lesson plus separate theory class.
€200 Group class and ‘Theory only / Leaving Cert’ enrolment
To finalise your enrolment, log on to:
Your username is your email. You may need to reset the password.
On the payment page you will be able to enrol for your/your families’ classes.
We will advise you when the payment portal is about to close. After that, we will allocate your place to students on the waiting list.
The class time on the enrolment system is your 2020/21 class time. You may have agreed new arrangements etc with your teacher for the autumn. This will be edited on the system through the Summer. It is important however that you enrol in order to secure your place.
As our IT system is currently in development, we do not currently have the facility to enrol you in theory and ensemble classes. We will do so in the Autumn subject to the considerations below.
To help you with planning I will put a draft copy of the timetable on the website, based on 2019/20 classes.
The application form is currently in development on the website. In the meantime, I will be filling vacancies from a priority list. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in additional classes or classes for other family members.
We will begin offering out vacant places in July.
The Music Centre will re-open on August 30th, but we will advise you on arrangements closer to the time.
In returning to the building, we will need to pay attention to the prevailing advice from the HSE and Department of Education and Science. We will also need to dovetail arrangements with the other services in the building – Kylemore College Secondary and Night Schools. We will need to take our time getting this right for all our students.
Our immediate priority will be a return of the one-to-one classes. After that, we will make plans for the safe resumption of theory and ensemble classes.
Kylemore College will be closed shortly to facilitate building work during the Summer. We will work remotely through this period. Contact details are as follows.
(01) 623 9187
Please note that phones are not always attended (Email will be better)
(01) 626 5901
From now on, I hope to make better use of the Kylemore College (Music Centre section) website as a point of information for parents / students etc.
Please email me if you have any queries,
